Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

(LIHEAP)

LIHEAP is a federally-funded program designed to assist low-income families meet the cost of home heating by providing a one-time payment to the heating utility.

Applications Are Being Accepted:
October 1, 2023 – April 30, 2024:
Ages 60+ and/or Disabled
November 1, 2023 – April 30, 2024: Everyone Else

Early Head Start Program Accepting Applications

Early Head Start is a home visitation program that provides services to eligible pregnant women and children ages birth to three years old. Services are provided in Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, & Winneshiek Counties.

BECOME A FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEER!

Volunteers are needed to pick up local food rescue, stock shelves, accept, weigh, and sort donations, assemble boxes of food, and more.

Services

Head Start & Early Head Start provides high-quality home visiting and preschool for children 0-5 years.

The Transit program promotes community development with safe and affordable transportation to the public. Call 1-866-382-4259 to schedule a ride.

FaDSS provides services that promote, empower, and nurture families toward economic and emotional self-sufficiency.

Family Services Offices operate a Crisis Assistance Program which provides financial assistance for those facing a crisis or emergency. NEICAC also operates several food pantries with both food and personal products.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program can help with a supplemental payment of residential heating costs. Eligible households can also receive financial assistance with past due utility bills and furnace repair or replacement.

The Housing Program provides safe and affordable housing to seniors, individuals with disabilities and individuals and families with limited resources.

The CACFP provides meal reimbursement and nutrition education to registered child care providers.

NEICAC serves the counties of Allamakee, Bremer, Clayton, Chickasaw, Fayette, Howard, & Winneshiek. We provide services to over 10,000 individuals each year. Our work enables individuals and families in Northeast Iowa to live, work, and contribute to their communities.
