The Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program (CAPP) collaborates with community agencies, schools, churches, businesses, youth, and families to provide medically accurate and age-appropriate programming for sexual health and responsible decision-making among Iowa youth.
For over 10 years NEICAC has provided medically accurate, evidence-based programming to schools and community groups. Topics include: consent & healthy relationships, communication skills, puberty, STI prevention, pregnancy prevention, human trafficking awareness, online safety and more.
Iowa’s Human Growth and Development Mandate requires all public schools to provide age-appropriate and research-based instruction in human growth and development including instruction about human sexuality, self-esteem, stress management, interpersonal relationships, domestic abuse, HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and the availability of a vaccine to prevent HPV, and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) in grades kindergarten through twelve. Each district determines its own programming to cover these required topics, so you can contact your child’s principal or district administrator to learn more about the specific program your child will receive.
NEICAC serves 8 counties with the CAPP grant: Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek.
Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation (NEICAC) is a 501(c)3 private non-profit operating in NE Iowa. "Embrace Iowa helped our family be getting us a stove. The stove we had was hazardous. When we would cook on it, it would stink the whole house up. Also, it leaked underneath the stove. That stove was so small that my two year old son could see inside the pan without standing on anything. Now, with our new stove we can cook without smelling anything or without cleaning up a leaky mess. Thanks so much for our new stove. We really appreciated it."
