Emergency Assistance

NEICAC provides emergency assistance through FEMA funding, a Homeless Shelter Operating Grant, and local donations. NEICAC is the fiscal agent or recipient of the FEMA funds in four of our counties. These funds are used as intended for emergency situations such as prevention of homelessness, emergency energy and situations such as prevention of homelessness, emergency situations such as prevention of homelessness, emergency energy and food. Last year 151 households received some type of assistance through REMA funds. FEMA and Homeless monies help pay for rent or mortgage assistance, food, and utilities. Local contributions donated by numerous individuals and organizations provide the means to assist those individuals and families who just “fall through the cracks” otherwise. The generosity of many makes it possible for NEICAC to step in on those occasions when a little bit of support can mean so much to the recipient.
